The following 2 GitHub repositories have been made available to share openBIS data models and developements:
- GitHub – openbis/community-data-models: A Repository of community developed openBIS data models. You can upload here your openBIS data models that you wish to share with the openBIS community.
Please follow the instructions in the repo README file. - GitHub – openbis/community-tools-directory: A Repository of community developed openBIS tools. If you have developed an openBIS plugin that you would like to share with the openBIS community, you can add a link to your own git repo on the README file of this repo.

openBIS v 20.10.7.1 is available.
This version contains a few bug fixes and improvements, no new features:
- Improvement ELN: ELN dropbox provides a report of error messages when registration fails
- Improvement ELN: Empty folders not shown in ELN navigation menu
- Improvement Admin UI: added explanation for Vocabulary type template
- Bug fix ELN: Back button not working on object tables in ELN Project overview
- Bug fix ELN: Zenodo export not working correctly in single-group set up
- Bug fix ELN: missing overview of datasets in dataset viewer forms in openBIS v20.10.7

openBIS v 20.10.7 is now available.
The most relevant new features and bug fixes are:
- New Barcode / QR Code widget supporting scanner and camera from mobile devices in all places where barcodes could be used in the UI:

- Removed integration with Plasmapper 2.0. This was done following the decommissioning of the Plasmapper 2.0 service.

openBIS v20.10.6 is now available.
The most relevant new features and bug fixes are:
- New navigation menu in ELN interface. In addition to the new look, the new menu has several new features, such as filtering and sorting. For the full list of functionalities check the documentation
- Improved tables exports. It is now possible to export tables in an openBIS import-compatible format or not. The two exports differ as explained in the documentation:

- Changes to default eln-lims dropbox. The new dropbox script no longer requires 2 folders for data ingestion, only 1 folder with the name generated from the openBIS UI:
- Possibility to configure notifications of dropbox data upload failure. It is possible to configure who should receive email notifications for dropbox upload failures:
- Dropbox monitor. It is possible to monitor the status of data upload via dropbox from the ELN interface:
- Search datasets by size in ELN UI. It is now possible to search datasets based on their size. An example of this functionality is described in the dataset archiving documentation:
- New feature for reading barcodes from mobile devices:
- Improvement to masterdata update in admin UI. It is now possible to use “update if exists” if the masterdata file contains $ properties.
- Fix for PATs to work with email as username.

openBIS v20.10.5 is now available.
The most relevant new features and bug fixes are:
- XLS exports in ELN UI: tables in the ELN can now be exported in XLS format (instead of .tsv). This export is compatible with the XLS imports for batch updates:
- XLS exports in admin UI. Types tables can now be exported from the admin UI. The exported XLS files can be imported in the admin UI. This facilitates exchanges of data models between different openBIS instances:
- New navigation menu preview in admin UI. It is now possible to navigate the openBIS hierarchy from the admin UI. This navigation menu is a preview of the new navigation menu that will be included in the ELN in the next openBIS minor release in 2023.
- Semantic annotations in XLS masterdata. It is possible to use semantic annotations for types in the XLS masterdata. Annotations are not yet visible in the ELN and admin UI, this will be included in the next openBIS minor release in 2023.
- Parents and children kept in ELN templates. Previously when Object templates created in the ELN contained parents and children, these were not copied over when the templates were used. This is now fixed.
- Improvements to ELN settings in multi–group instances.
- Personal Access Tokens (PAT): simplify integration with other systems, by avoiding to provide username and password for authentication. PATs can be long-lived:
